The bottom of the compact has application a shade name and directions reading, “Max Factor / Supreme / Pan-Cake Brand Make-Up / 4N / To apply lanolin-rich Pan-Cake Make-Up saturate a sponge in water. Then squeeze out the sponge until it remains wet, but does not drip water. Rub sponge lightly over make-up. Apply over entire face using light strokes, picking up more make-up from the cakes as needed. Then squeeze sponge thoroughly. Turn sponge to clean side and quickly blend over entire face. Blot with tissue.
